About Me

Keron "Ronny P." Salmon first appeared on the Jamaican Hip-Hop scene in 2003 when the Bebble Team, of which he is a member, released their debut underground album illustriously titled 'Daily Basis.' His intellectual and Afrocentric flows, inspired by the likes of fellow Bebble artist Taiwo a.k.a. Rap Brown, could be heard on a major share of the tracks that constituted the album. His dedication and motivation to be the 'Best Rapper in Jamaica" proved to be a driving force behind the next Bebble Team project being a Ronny P. solo album named 'Sea full of Madness' (Released later the same year). This album, though a solo project, had many featured appearances by group members - T.M.O., Rap brown, Strizzle, Stump T., to name a few - as well as other local artists from surrounding areas. This album saw the rapper diversify his musical range by venturing onto dancehall rhythms while rapping and 'Dj-ing' on them. With increased sales/promotion and momentum building up, the limit was the sky for the group as well as the Kingston City native himself. The grimy, yet soulful beats, mixed with heavy lyrical content caught the ear of many of Jamaica's hard-core Hip-Hop supporters. Even his humorous nature revealed it self through some comical interludes and unusual punchlines. Regardless of the positive feedback, Ronny P always knew he had a lot of work to do to develop himself into an artist worthy of the title 'Best in JA.' He underwent much of his development during the years he spent in Orlando FL, while earning a degree in Electronics. With music constantly on his mind, he would do whatever it takes to have some form of recording capability at home - at all times. After watching his brother - Bebble producer/engineer 'Supernova' - for a few years behind the mixing boards, he felt he had learned enough to begin making his own beats and recording himself! This resulted in an onslaught of songs being recorded and sent to friends and musical associates. He also worked with many other producers including Bravinci, Nemnock, Inztinkz, Zed, and Massyka from Jamaica; Danger, Thugwig, and Swagger from Anguilla; Bition and Asher from the V.I., and a host of others. Many of those tracks featured a familiar artist called Young Diction (also from Anguilla) who helped Ronny P. to promote true Hip-Hop in Orlando. A track titled 'Dear Hip-Hop' which featured Young Diction and was produced by Danger was selected for one of Dj Green Lantern's Myspace Invasion mixtapes. This was a stand-out moment in Ronny P's early career (who was by then known as Ronny Pyramd or simply Pyramid). This was around the same time that Pyramid's second solo project was released (late 2007). It was a mixtape titled 'Transition: Vol 1,' which was essentially a compilation of songs from the previous 2-3 years. This mixtape was a long-awaited guide through the mind of the Pyramid, and even though many of the tracks were familiar to those in the rapper's circle, they all came together smoothly to transmit the Pyramid's fluctuating range of hard-core, conscious, and commercial flows. With the death of dear friend and group member Rap brown, and the Pyramid's return home shortly thereafter, it was time again for the Bebble Team to re-unite forces and re-ignite the movement toward establishing a local market for Jamaican Hip-Hop. The unfortunate incident turned out to be all the inspiration needed to begin working toward the second Bebble Team album, and Pyramid arrived just in time to add his influence to the product. He made 9 appearances as a rapper and 1 as a producer on the album titled 'Bebble Business.' This time around a few changes were made in the Bebble Team line-up which differed from that of Daily Basis' - group members being Massyka, Koro-Fyah, T.M.O., Grabba Smallz, Roxy, Pyramid, Rap Brown, Soya Beans, and Triple Threat. Though this album is yet be officially released, it can still be found in the hands of many Hip-Hop patrons throughout the city. Ronny Pyramid is currently working on singles and other tracks to compete for placement on his third solo project 'The Lost Papyrus,' where he intends to focus on his conscious afroscentric side. His ultimate aim is to see the upliftment and overall betterment of Black people across the world, and he believes his music should be a reflection of that goal. The Saga Continues...
