Tell me something dangerous and true

About Me

I'm a single father, a licensed Electrician, and an amateur writer. And, yes, the coolest geek you'll ever know. I've spent the past twelve years of my life cultivating an aura of coolness, and I've almost got it right. Yet beneath my frosty exterior of impenetrable Cool, beats the heart of a Great Big Dork. My vice of choice is Horror. Movies, books, or music; if its dark and scary, I love it. Why Horror? Dunno. Could be because the first time I ever made out with a girl was in a dark closet while her brother told ghost stories not two feet away from us. This could also explain my fondness for redheads. It might also be that good Horror challenges us to face things we are afraid of, and deal with them. I enjoy movies, television, books, comic books, graphic novels, anime, and video games. Though Horror is my first love, I have a broad range of interests, and will surprise you with the things I know, and the things I dont know. I laughed during Jason X, cried during Lilo and Stitch, and slept through Eyes Wide Shut (the first time, anyway). My friends reflect my broad interests, and include computer geeks, blue-collar working types, degreed professionals, and tattooed/pierced bartenders. The one thing they all have in common is that they all appreciate how awesome I am. (That'd be false hubris, there.) I am as comfortable sitting around talking about art and culture, as I am pub-crawling with a motley crew of ragged social misfits. I've had some college, but I'm mostly self-taught. Most of what I know I've picked up by hanging out with people who are smarter and more educated than I am, which makes me seem smarter and more educated than I actually am, perhaps. But it's taught me humility, and respect. My life is remarkable only for how mundane it is. Mine is not an exciting life. It's comfortable, engaging, and satisfying. A solid platform for exploring deeper waters and speculating on possibilities. Some day I'll be a famous writer, and things will get more interesting. For now, I'm enjoying the stability and freedom of artistic obscurity. My life philosophy is this: There are two kinds of people in the world: The ones we love, and everyone else. With the people we love, be gracious, honest, and kind. With everyone else... be gracious, honest, and kind.

Ask me a question, and I'll answer it in the spirit it is asked. Honest questions will get honest answers, smart-ass questions will get smart-ass answers, etc. Don't be shy, ask me anything.
