OBBR is NOT accepting dogs from individuals , except in VERY extreme circumstances and IF we have a foster home available.  This has been a very difficult decision because so many bully breed dogs are in need but we will only be able to pull from our local area shelters when we have the room and the funds to support another rescue.
If you are looking to rehome your pit bull, please read OBBR's rehoming page as well as the wealth of available information at Pit Bull Rescue Central .
I am just one woman doing what I can to save the breeds of dogs often called "pit bull". It started with one, and they just kept coming. Currently I work through education, and rescue to help our pitties. I have compiled a 150 page book, which contains information about the breeds of dogs called pit bulls. I distribute this to whomever can help make a difference. I have also put together a powerpoint presentation about our pitties. I try my best through education to show people that fear of this breed is simply a lack of knowledge and that this fear is simply fueled by negative press and irresponsible owners. I feed good quality food. I see the vet as needed. I make sure that the dog is in good health and then I make it available for adoption. I have strict adoption requirements.
I require that each person that wants to adopt has: 2 Vet references, one vet reference if you have had the same vet for 5+ years Knowledge of the breed The above vet must know of their knowledge of the breed You must be able to pass a background check. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to placement. No breeders, No chains, NO FIGHTERS!!! Etc.
If you feel that you meet the above criteria, e-mail me here on myspace and I will get you an adoption form. Thanks everyone for loving the breed.
Best wishes,
Dawn
