"this break has really been an eye opener for me, to lessons i already thought i knew, understood, and lived by. sometimes, we get so caught up in the "swing of things" that we forget about the forces that cause the swing. life isn't about car payments, getting straight A's, 9-5 jobs, resumes, finals, outrageous tuition, gas money, rent, blah, blah. life is about walking down the vegas strip with crutches and a broken leg with friends. it's about being covered in toilet paper confetti with 50238472 people you've never met. it's about getting to know your gramma for a second time. it's about painting pictures of space monkeys, even though they don't exist. it's about reunions. it's about choosing inspiration over jealousy. it's about witnessing silent acts of kindness. it's about pointless conversations that only lead to an eruption of laughter with your friends. it's about having faith that everything will always be ok, regardless of how wretched the situation is. it's about feeding your brain. it's about "first times" and "last times." but most importantly, it's about getting to know who that person is that lives inside of you, getting to love that person. to all my beautiful friends, this is by no means my advice to how you should live your lives, but just some of the things that have touched my heart and i really feel compelled to share."-- hannah johnson
