Alter is a pair of adjacent men's and women's clothing stores on Franklin Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Since our inception in February, 2007, we have focused on creating "the look" for Brooklyn and beyond. This means more than just good taste in clothing-- it means original styling, a warm, helpful staff and prices that compliment the young creative's wallet.
Both Alter Men and Alter Women feature a blend of young design houses from New York and Los Angeles to Stockholm and Montreal, local designers, reconstructed vintage and quality vintage pieces. The stores themselves have been hand constructed from sustainable recycled materials. At Alter, we're confident that we can provide you with the shopping experience you've been looking for and clothing you can't easily find elsewhere.
The Men's Store includes clothing by Kill City, Cheap Monday, Kostym, 22 Vintage, Preloved, Stiska, Prophetik, US Rags, Motherfucker Clothing, PASTE, Penfield, Takel, This Old Thing, Half-Life, and hand-picked vintage. We also carry accessories by Brackney, San Diego Hat Company, Rothco Millitary, matt & nat vegan bags, Spitfire, YMYL holsters, Da*Nada, Initium and Pop Eyewear, as well as men's jewelry by Anne Arden McDonald, Alex & Chloe, Dahl & Dane, Danielle Bugeous, and recycled bike jewelry by GINGA.
Women's Alter carries clothing by Triple 5 Soul, Cheap Monday, Renee C., Kostym, Half Life, Kitchen Orange, Black, C. Luce, and Kill City. Our women's accessories are by San Diego Hat Company, matt & nat, Spitfire and Da*Nada, with jewelry by Fetty, Fame, Erin Considine,Anne Arden McDonald and Ginga. For your feet, we've got Melissa, Poetic Licence, sam Edelman and vintage shoes, accessories, belts and boots.
