Maria Rivera a.k.a SuneV, early interest in music started at the age of 3, when she first sang at her older brother's Kindergarten graduation recital. Raised in a musical family, SuneV's love for music continued to grow as she presented herself in local talent shows within her town. "I just knew that I love to be on stage performing, whether it was by acting, singing or dancing. When I'm onstage I feel alive."Later on, she was trained by Lora Tamagini her High School choir teacher and performed various solos in school musicals. SuneV was one of the selected choir members who got the chance to perform in Italy to sing in front of the Pope, "Singing in Italy was breathtaking, the acoustic for singing at different cathedrals was such a unique experience and I met the most famous person in the world the Pope". She then wrote and sang the Spanish translation to "Bethlehem Morning" in the Christian Contemporary CD Album "Joy in My Soul" release in 1998 by the Our Lady of Nazareth School Choir.SuneV then headed to Umass Amherst for her college education. During her years at the University she continued to be involved with different aspects of music by doing hooks for her town local rap artists such as Sonic and Siniz. SuneV graduated with a bachelors degree in communications and sociology, but that was only part of her B planshe still felt as if she had unfinished business.Following graduation she focused on songwriting and started jamming with a coworker that she met at the corporate office, the man behind the music and notoriously famous "James Haze". Coming up with a unique and original sound was definitely a tough subject I wanted to sing everything from salsa, R&B, merengue, rock and pop. James Haze knew that suneV needed to focus in one style of music and make that her niche. Presently, Reggeaton exploded into the mainstream and suneV and James Haze were quick to realize the movement. SuneV with the help of James Haze and other industrial producers has now created some hip Reggeaton songs in Spanish and English and she hopes to be very succesful in this genre.Sunev is a new and upcoming artist who has versatile talents and writes her own songs. Her independent success, with little publicity or marketing has been the result of live performances and promotion through her own website on myspace.com/zonev. She has performed and appeared in dozens of clubs and festivals such as the Boston Puertorican Festival. SuneV has a strong performance on stage and can captivate the audience. SuneV has opened shows for Los Pit-Bulls Alexy y Fido, Domenic Marte, Milly Quezada and Don Omar.SuneV is currently working on her first album and hopes to realease her first debut album by 2006 .
