About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Well I guess it all started a few years back, I thought it would be totally funny to buy an accordion and sing some raps about drinking malt beverages and throwing horseshoes and all. After purchasing an old squeeze box and a Casio SK5 I teamed up with the homie DJ Turnstile and Murderous Homebass and we recorded a messy little ditty on a Tascam 4-Track called "Derek Jeter's Mom". Eventually the three of us committed to weekly experimental jam sessions, making a bunch of hissy tapes and later becoming known as the legendary Semi-Tuff trio. After I did some recording in Chicago (minus the accordion) and the three of us did some more recording in Oakland and Albany, CA we decided to compile a "best-of" CD of a bunch of four-track stuff called "Know Your Role".
It was about this time I met Bless One, who agreed to help us put all that old shit on a computer and clean it up a bit (he was paid in soda and potato chips for his hours and hours of tedious labor). Semi-Tuff's "Know Your Role" eventually enjoyed a small CD pressing and was heard by not very many people, but I still think of it as being pretty dope. Soon afterwards, Bless One and I recorded some new material with much better equipment, and Mister Salty became a part of the Work For Music collective, an independent record label/propaganda machine headed by Bless and putting it down for the west coast.
Which leads us up to now: Work For Music has released a 12 Inch compilation featuring THREE HOT TRACKS by Mister Salty (including crowd favorite "clark kent"). So get it in yer bin quick, mister deejay.
And now I have a whole album! You should get it it's pretty good
Where to get my CD if you are interested --
Bay Area residents: Could purchase it from Amoeba records in Berkeley if you are so inclined...
Boston residents: Get it in person from the Underground Hip Hop storefront at 234 Huntington Ave near Northeastern University. And while you're there pick up some pretty incredible T-shirts and 12 inches, it is really the only place in the area with such a dope selection. And say what's up to the guys there; they will talk your ear off about some fun hip hop shit, no problem.
Everywhere else on the Planet Earth:
pick it up at undergroundhiphop.com
