About Me

Who are Major League you ask????Well the group consist of 3 members. 2 MC's and 1 Producer. The dynamic duo go by the monikers of Etc and Numo...it's kinda hard to describe their rhyme style but kinda easy at the same time. In today's hip-hop main stream, most "rappers" talk about the same thing. Either it's the rims on their car, the different colors in their chain, their block or the glorification of drug selling. What it all comes down to is money....selling records. Major League is on a whole other echelon. They pride themselves on top-notch lyrics, witty wordplay but most importantly the element of reality. One word sums it up....Authentic!!!!! When you listen to Etc's and Numo's rhymes, you can't help but to be impressed by their lyricism. Their down-south mellow flow has created an entirely diffrent genre of rap which many have begun to refer to as "Up South" hip-hop. Granted they do boast about how hot their rhymes are and a handful of their sexual exploits but the track compilation is quite versatile and there is never a sense of repetitivness. Not only do they give you pure hip-hop but they also cover a variety of topics ranging from concious rap, party anthems, state of rap music, relationships, comical experiences and just having a downright good time. They speed up their delivery on tracks like "Pokerface" and slow it down for you on songs like "Searchin". Featured artist such as Rhinn Scott and T.R. add the perfect balance to the ablum as they contribute a pinch of R&B to tracks like "Happy Hour" and "Top-Shelf". They come across as "average joes" and listners have no trouble at all relating to the plights of these two talented young men. What is suprisingly refreshing is the fact that you can put the CD in and play it from beginning to end and back to the beggining again. It not often that you come across a duo with such perfect chemistry....its almost un-natural. Etc is a cunning poet that will sneak up on you with his clever word play. You could be sitting at your 9-5 and all of a sudden one of his strategiclly placed metaphors will blind side you from out of nowhere....compelling you to pass an earphone to those closest to you and emphatically say, "You gotta listen to what this dude just said!!!!" Numo on the other hand is so straight forward. He prides himself on saying what's on his mind. His "no-nonsense" mentatlity and street smart-style gives Major League that edge that compliments Etc's laid back persona. Corieo's (the producer) gift of soulful creativity coupled with unsurpassed "crate-sifting" abilities allows for the birth of genuinely hip-hop sounding tracks unmatched by his lackadaisical counterparts in today's "cookie-cutter" production industry. Corieo's ear for music can be attributed to his up-bringing during the prominent hip-hip era where lyricism was vital to being respected as an MC and you couldn't just say anything and get away with it. This allows for him to construct specifically tailored tracks to allow the talented MC's to express their viewpoint clearly and concisely and at the same time allowing the creative room to experiment with their wordplay. The end result is a perfect balance of dope rhymes and slamming production. No two beats are alike but there is a distinct Coreio feel to each track. If you listen close you can almost hear the distinct sound of record "pops" reminiscent of when your parents pulled out them old 45's when company came over. Bottom-line....You'll have to respect them...if you don't, you just don't have a clue when it comes to real music. Major League...slammin beats..ill rhymes. There's not much more to say. It is what it is. It really ain't a method!!!!!!!!!!!!!I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
