MP11 Forever / Too Much 12" - THE EMERGENCY
Release 1 August 2008
News From Ibiza: Disco Is Back In Its Funkiest Most Psychedelic Form. Names To Drop Hercules & Love Affair Glass Candy & The Emergency
Vogue UK (August 2008)
Forever from theemergency on Vimeo .
As fresh and breezy an effort as anything produced by the much hyped Italo-Disco school and, while all the signifiers of that movement are here –The Emergency never sound quotational or calculated.... this single is a classy outing by one our most futuristic sounding groups.
threethousand.com (Australia)
Their brooding, indie electro sound reminds me so much Colder mixed with Cut Copy mixed with Chromatics. Maybe I’m just a sucker for things that sound like they are recorded by tall, dark and handsome gentlemen playing synths in long, concrete hallway
Big Stereo (USA)
In a word stunning. More club floor decimation from the Metal Postcard stable .
This brooding beauty will appeal to everyone from disciples of Kraftwerk to lovers of DAF, gloriously parched with a retro accents and liberally dipped with stark minimalist grooves this dislocated euro disko funk wrap ripples warily like a ‘music for the masses’ era Depeche Mode
Losing Today (UK)
Too Much from theemergency on Vimeo .
Relish the second before you press play below as one of anticipation before bliss, an electric impulse later finds you floating in the zero-g space of their synthetic world.

MP10 Common Species / When You're Dead 7" - WOW
Released April 2008 ..people said nice things like
The end product .. is brilliant: disco-punk, with an element of pop to it... Each song maintains it’s own individuality throughout, a rarity in modern times in which songs just seem to amalgamate into one general ‘sound’. If you were to throw The Lost Valentinos, Crystal Castles and Gang of Four into a blender, you’d end up with a WOW smoothie.
Illegal Tender Magazine
WOW. .low-fi hipster guitar dance. Common Species just does it for me. I'd go as far as saying it's the perfect house party track Really great..
Have Fun Blog
Sydney boy/girl duo WOW seem to have come up out of nowhere — and bam, hitting us upside the head In short WOW encompasses that signature Australia sound you already know and love: dirty synth mixed with guitar that will make you shake and dance in your skinny jeans.

MP08 USA/G-HAD - dj foundation
Already reviewed by Eddy Temple Morris in Dj Mag (UK)
Unless you have the eysight of an eagle we admit that's hard to read so this is what he says
Getting tunes & mixes from dj foundation can be hard, say his people. That's not really surprising. He's from Mosul, Iraq. Really. I thought it was a marketing gimmick but he's for real, and this big dumb, US Army and Van Halen sampling tune / mix / boot / cultural phenomenon is what i call an anthem
Brilliant best thing since Johnny Rotten . Music with attitude. More please.

(Now Out)
My head jiggled atop my neck and my torso twisted and my brain cheerfully gyrated as this quirky and creative hip hop-based experimental mix of blues, electronica and extraterrestrial laptop tinkering had its way with my members. Sadly, this four track EP is over before you can even say EP.

MP06 - Spending Time / Switch Me The Emergency 7" 45rpm
The Emergency are featured on FBI Radio Sydney.. best of 2007 CD
See Blog For Details
More uber cool stereo wares from this New York based imprint ... Spending time' opens up a superbly crafted set of back to the old school early 80's club groove. An edgy almost monochrome montage of Spartan dub-tronics and detached white funk.
Well tasty if you ask me.
The Sunday Experience (UK)
Singer Milo has an attractive monotone residing somewhere between Bernard Sumner and a mellow Joe Strummer, which suits the inverted pop-psychology culminating in 'Spending Time's "Life is a string of desires" lyrics, and the self-deprecating/ironic, "Switch me for you/who needs money when you've got looks?." ' ... This certainly has its charms.
Cyclic Defrost (Australia)
The Emergency never sound quotational or calculated like so many new club acts.... this single is a classy outing by one our most futuristic sounding groups.

MP07 - Never Heard Of Zeppelin - In Business 7"
Twisted slices of battered and buckled and caustic candy pop is what's on offer, 'this song' in particular taps in to the whole spite laced no wave mindset of the Voidoids .. this mutant hybrid of punk and post punk austere electronics mainlines into the same veins as were once occupied by the likes of the Normal and Cabaret Voltaire though served up with a brittle part psychotic edge.
Losing Today.com
Really, the whole thing is hard to listen to. Despite that, I couldn't stop playing it. .. I loved this EP. Sure, I feel like a poseur playing this angry, anti-corporate music as I drive to work; I still can't stop listening. A+
