D1 aka Distinct One is a 23 year old Emcee/Producer from Columbus, Ohio. He rhymes and produces under the Forever Fam crew (DJ Meddafore, Elite, Splitt, Shannon Swain, Kani, Reflect, Prajna, DJ Syk, MC Rickit, C.O.A., Max Qwest, and DJ E-Dubble). Although his heart belongs to emceeing, his talent for producing beats cannot be denied. Unable to afford an MPC, Triton, or any other expensive piece of equipment, D1 was forced to find his own way to make beats. "I chop/flip my samples manually, layer my drums one by one in Acid, and add any keyboard with a midi controller and tweak the sounds to get something unique. It may take a little more time than other producers, but I feel like I have more control over the outcome of it."
