About Me
I was born in december, 1980. I was introduced to drumming with the age of 6 by my grandfather, who wasn't actually professional but had a very good talent to music, instruments and... in fact almost everything. So we spent hours, days, years together playing duets on the sofa... At the age of 13 as a result of a long decision making process I "officially" started to learn music and drumming in a local school, having a real drumstick which was actually much longer than I thought... Next year I got my very first kit, an old Amati. Finally I could start practicing more and more... In 1995 I felt that playing "Basket case" from Green day was much more fun than playing flam paradiddles, so I quit music-school and joined my first real band named KABALA. First concert in 1996. We recorded our demo in 1998. We had some member and name changes, but we were together until 2001. Meanwhile I met György Martonosi one of the best (if not the best) drum-teacher in Hungary and spent some time to brush up my incredible chops... :) By that time I got rid of my lovely Amati and purchased my new drumset, a second hand Tacton. Cheap but great sounded toms. We were together until my present kit arrived in 2002. In 1998 my friend Imre Poniklo was created his band AMBER SMITH and asked me to be the drummer. I spent 3 years with the band but my taste of music was just about to change so I chose different ways... Over this period I was contributed to some other bands like TRIKO, the hungarian U2 cover band STATION, my first Toto cover band FAN CLUB 6 and I met my friend Zsolt Murguly codename "Dezso", a very talented guitarist and founded the band D SOUND. Some concerts, two albums out, great times together. In 2001 I was asked to join the band "JEFF PORCARO TRIBUTE BAND" for some gigs due to a serious knee injury of their drummer, Zoltán Hetényi. I had the opportunity to play together with musicians like: Ildi Keresztes, Isván Csányi, László Kicska, Péter Kovács "Kovax" and my friend István Alapi. And we played my all time favourite band's songs: Toto... so it was heaven for me. :) In 2002 I joined the Judas Priest tribute band MELTDOWN which I really enjoyed. My new kit, rock and roll... no, actually it was METAL! haha The next few years were much more quiet music-wise since most of the times I was in NyÃregyháza learning my real profession, my other love - flying. In January 2007 István Alapi asked me to join his new band, which was a real honour to me and we started to rehearse his old songs as well as we started to record new songs which are to be released soon! The band is incredible we're having REAL fun together! My biggest is influence is Simon Phillips - no secret. And yes my kit is very Simonish... This is an old story: when I first saw his kit during the Livefields tour in 1999 I fell in love with it at once, and decided to get one as soon as I can afford it. It took 8 years but I stucked with it. Over the years I got used to the setup pretty much and - as Simon's kit has changed a lot since then - I stay with that one... ;)
