About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

Thanks for visiting Ben van den Akker's space.

I'm a classically trained percussionist and self taught drummer. I mostly play jazz on the 'Franco Cozzo' kit and I write the occasional tune.
I'm a member of the Cairo Club Orchestra (vintage jazz) and the AFJE (modern art ensemble).
- You can catch the Cairo Club Orchestra on YouTube. You can also visit their site (just copy & paste the url):
http://gowrie.alphalink.com.au/cairo/index.htm
- The AFJE has two promotional CDs out: "Walpurgis Night" and "Volatile".
I was born in Ossendrecht, Holland and moved to Australia in 1980. I like hats, coffee, food and the outdoors. I value a dog's oppinion as much as a human's. I like to go right up to a tree, touch its bark with my bare hands and wonder what it might be thinking. I guess that's about as interesting as I get.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

On MySpace? - Friends and family, especially those overseas (once they know I'm on here that is).
I'm also happy to meet any 'new friends' that want to talk/share music.
Als er iemand in Holland ook met mij kontakt wil hebben over muziek enzo, dan hoor ik natuurlijk ook graag van jou.
Cheers,
Ben
