Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage

About Me

*Dirty Hands will be headlining moog in Leeds at the Cardigan Arms on Kirkstall Road, you should come!I am Stef, I go by many names, Kelly, Screb and other not so nice ones. I have black hair and brown eyes. I'm en peut Francaise et Anglais and recently found out I'm apparently a bit Jewish too. Woo for multi-culturalism. I don't sleep very much because I'm a bit of an insomniac which is why I often look like a panda or a smack head. I'm not the most aware person apparently I'm some weird mix of dyslexic and dyspraxic, fuck knows, all I know is I often find myself falling over after unknowingly head-butting a lamp-post or tree. I like to write songs on the guitar and sing with my band 'Dirty Hands'. I think we are good, hope you do too. I love all kinds of music but I guess bands like Nirvana, Pixies and Gorillaz etc are pretty big influences. To view my band please click the following links (its good, really!):Dirty HandsEdit: my old band Astronauts was up here, but that kind of fell apart and I left, its still going I think but minus my vocals, kinda going soundscape or some such thing, je ne sais pas.

My Interests

Music:

www.myspace.com/dirtyhandsthebandPoems/SongsShadow Puppetscrippled minds and jumbled souls shattering skies down the rabbit hole you wake up one day and find you ain't got nothing to saythe past love of ages gone limit the future as comparisions blare and share nothing is right with the world as perceptions mist and your lost in the chaos you've formed and fearwhatever happened to those misty eyed days open to the world instead of broken in this way shattered wings glide towards uncertain prospects somethings in the way and I'm lost in its effects, my mind has gone astraywould'nt it be nice to be truly free free from the tragedy of modernity and uncertainty open arms and foreign love lost dreams and memories, empty and alone looking aboveI'm so tired of being down break free and weave a mesh of sound such things keep the shadows away as ruin creeps in and the lies begineveryone tries to be something apart from themselves were all liars stuck in the shadows of liars heroes and legends, mirror images and parallel dimensions

Movies:

Trainspotting, Donnie Darko, Mysterious Skin, Star Wars, Clerks, Amelie, Pulp Fiction, A Clockwork Orange,Indiana Jones, Human Traffic, Dazed and Confused.

Television:

I don't really get time to watch it anymore, though in some ways that isn't a bad thing. After all the mental conditioning I got as a kid, it could be good for some freedom from such things. Though Heroes and Angel are good TV shows :p

Books:

The God Delusion, Ender's Game, Keats, A Vindication For the Rights of Woman (and Men), Common Sense, X-Men Comics, Buffy Season 8 Comics, Fray, Dr Faustus, Red Dragon

Heroes:

Stan Lee, Damon Albarn, Thom Yorke, Joss Whedon, Yoshinori Kitase, Brad Nowell, John Keats, Karl Marx, Peter Molyneux, Mary Wollstonecraft and yes Kurt Cobain... not because he killed himself, but he was an amazing musician and his politics were minter burger

Nirvana

totally not under-rated, one of the best bands in the world, they are not a cliche and Mr Cobain captured tennage angst amazingly, that. is. all I have to say on the matter.
