Searching for words to describe the sound coming outta southeast Virginia, three letters come to mind - DMP. Durte Muzik Prahdukshun consists of some of Virginia's finest talent, and has a style that could be described as "Uncut Raw." Headed by in-house producer, Nottz, DMP has been making themselves heard in the VA underground Hip-Hop circuit for several years. Nottz has been building an extensive track record for himself and his Durte Muzik Crew - nailing tracks for industry vets such as Busta Rhymes, 50 Cent, MOP, Little Brother, Neyo, ect... and more recently producing Snoop Dogg's latest hit single "That's That" featuring R Kelly. Nottz has also landed a spot on Dr. Dre's long awaited LP - "Detox." This VA crew is no doubt on the fore front of a huge public emergence. Receiving industry press, as well as reviews, from well known publications such as Source, Scratch, Slam, and XXL.From their home base in Virginia to the local scenes of NYC, the group is ready to be recognized. DMP consists of a hard hitting group of MC's, which include BlacknDeckuh, Big Shot, and Khizman. They have already begun to make their presence felt, landing an opening spot on Jay Z's "Hard Knock Life Tour," "Def Jam Vendetta Tour," and Snoop Dogg's "Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss Tour." The group has been gaining momentum, keeping up with street releases, radio drops, interviews, solo mix tapes, and of course performances. Durte Muzik has also been opening the ears of major labels.DMP continues to produce underground hits with a new promotional single titled "Miles Away," which is flooding the airwaves in the southeast. "Nottz Presents DMP.......The MixTape" (Teamsta/Koch) is in stores nationwide, once again putting out that pure unadulterated Hip-Hop sound. The group is ready to give the genre a much needed facelift, and its only a matter of time before all eyes and ears are on DMP.
