I first began playing music as a child and decided to pursue music professionally at the age of 16. My first mentor was Anton Newcombe, leader of the internationally acclaimed shoegaze/psychedelic band The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Next I went on to explore the emerging drum and bass/jungle scene in the u.s. and sang with top DJ's from San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, and the UK. While living in NY and Atlanta, I cut tracks with several downtempo and IDM DJ's and performed regularly at many wharehouse parties and raves. In 2005, I formed LSD and the Search for God in San Francisco and then went on to Los Angeles to write and record solo material with Tommy Dietrick formerly of the Brian Jonestown Massacre. One track included on the solo sessions recorded under the moniker of Dead Letter Era, is a song version of the poem "What Pain", written by legendary frontman Peter Hayes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and former member of the Brian Jonestown Massacre. While in LA I also recorded a monumental track, "33 Down" with renound LA producer Scobra. The track was praised personally by Massive Attack and held the number one ranking position on the myspace downtempo chart for over six weeks. After spending time in California, I lived in New Zealand with my adoptive parents, who are the matriarch and patriarch of the Nation of Waitaha, the People of Peace who first came to NZ over 6,000 years ago. I just released a version of The Cure's classic "Fire in Cairo"with NY indie band Gangi, for "The Perfect As Cats" tribute album released on Manimal Vinyl Records. All proceeds go to benefit the Invisible Children's Fund, which helps the ex-child soldiers of Uganda. I have returned to my hometown of New Orleans, and am currently working on a new record.
