Influences
My main influences are the roots of the American folk music; be it of black or white origin. Since the Blues have always been an integral part of the guitar's nature, it's been in my fingers and my chest ever since I picked up the instrument. My first trip to the States, a coast to coast road trip in a beaten-up Honda during the spring of 1999, I got to see the nation's diversity, and fell in love with the culture, the history and the warm-heartedness of the South.
Later, I got more and more into flatpicking, and, in the winter af 2004, eventually returning to the Bluegrass' cradle; the states of Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia.
All of this has tought me a lot about the background behind the music, and why you can link old time music to Bob Dylan, why you can link The Carter Family to Bruce Springsteen, and so on. It also gave me the want to teach myself to play the banjo, the dobro and the mandolin.
Current activities
The very end of 2008 saw the release of "Welcome", my first solo album. It is released on Gateway Music. I did a few, but fantastic gigs around the country, and I hope to do some more during 2008. We got very well recieved, and I just love the sound of my live band.
Right now, I am doing some gigs on western guitar, dobro, mandolin and banjo with Søren Krogh. I enjoy this very much.
My old high-school funk band reunited on primetime national TV February 27, a thing, that I didn't see coming.
My new studio is up and running, so new songs are being written, and all in all it's become the creative refuge that I hoped it would be.
