Featuring bass guitar hero Scottie Slane, Abstract Ensemble performs at upscale events throughout the Los Angeles area. Formed in 2001, this combo is committed to giving party-goers a very hip and lively musical experience. Classic jazz favorites by the likes of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Thelonious Monk are performed with absolutely FIRST CLASS musicianship, and an ULTRAmodern, almost futuristic sound. Scottie's mastery of the bass is quite impressive, combining virtuoso technique with an extra colorful tone, courtesy of his custom effects pedalboard. Drummer Michael E. Lloyd's playing is very swinging and creative, keeping the groove AND soloing all at once. Joining the group in 2004, Amir Efrat is a keyboardist of the highest caliber, a Berklee College of Music graduate with exstensive recording and touring credits. This is jazz with attitude!
