Influences: Orginally named HardCountry, the On Target band covers a wide variety of music including southern rock, classic rock, 80's metal, and some of today's
"hard country" in addition to old country favorites. In addition to this wide variety of covers, the band also plays a hand full of original music. The band came together in fall of 2006 under the HardCountry name before switching names to On Target in the summer of 2007.
Sounds Like: This band is all across the board when it comes to sound. Groups that On Target "sound like" include groups like Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Cheap Trick, Credence Clearwater Revival, and the like. The band hits both ends of the classic rock spectrum with jams like Unka Ted’s Cat Scratch, ACDC’s TNT, and Judas Priest’s Livin’ After Midnight slowing down to songs by Elvis and Johnny Cash. On Target has a female singer with a powerful voice and Joan Jett and Pat Benetar are covered quite well. Take the above types of sounds and add a twist of country here and there and you have the band On Target. In addition, the band plays a handful of catchy originals that are sure to get any venue jumping.
