.Jill Masterton is a fictional character in the James Bond film, Goldfinger. She is played by Shirley Eaton. For unknown reasons Jill and her sister Tilly's surname was changed from Masterton for the novel to Masterson for the film.Jill Masterton is employed by Auric Goldfinger to help him win at cards and to be "seen" with him. She can see Goldfinger's opponent’s cards through her high-powered binoculars. She communicates via radio, with Goldfinger (which he receives through a false hearing aid) telling him what cards his opponent has and what is going on in the game. She is an intelligent, very beautiful woman who Bond thinks is too nice to be involved with Goldfinger. She enjoys humiliating Goldfinger, and then enjoys Bond's bed. They spend a champagne afternoon together and expect to enjoy the anticipated sleepless night until Bond goes to the icebox for another bottle-- when Oddjob knocks him out. Bond awakens hours later to find that Jill pays the ultimate price when Oddjob strips off her clothes and paints her entirely in gold, suffocating the blonde beauty's skin. Goldfinger gets his revenge for the card game and gives Bond a more personal reason for his mission.Jill, along with Tilly, are the first in a long line of female sacrificial lambs who enter the scenario and then exit a few scenes later. A commonly believed myth is that Shirley Eaton died playing the part. The gold-painted girl in the opening credits is actually Margaret Nolan, who plays Dink, Bond's Miami masseuse.
