Zkippy Stardust

La migliore cover band italiana di David Bowie. Skip Collins è nato in Inghilerra ed ha passato molti anni della sua vita a Londra lavorando sempre nel music business collaborando con molti personaggi affermati. Cantante del gruppo pop anni ’80 ‘Hohokam’ e chitarrista del gruppo rock ‘Last of the teenage idols’, ha riscosso un discreto successo con la pubblicazione di alcuni album ed in particolare con la pubblicazione del video della canzone ‘Point of you’ degli ‘Hohokam’ che nel 1986 raggiunse le posizioni più alte delle classifiche di tutte le tv musicali europee. Tra le collaborazioni ricordiamo quelle con Gary Numan, Andy Reilly (produttore di Bon Jovi e Duran Duran) e quelle con musicisti di U.F.O., Right Said Fraid, Thunder, Siuoxies and the Banshees, Bay city rollers.Durante tutti questi anni, Skip ha sempre trovato occasioni per riunire qualche musicista e cantare in spettacoli dedicati al suo idolo di sempre: David Bowie. Skip trasferitosi in Italia,in Toscana, ha fatto amicizia con alcuni musicisti della zona che condividono la sua passione per Bowie ed insieme hanno costituito gli ‘Zkippy Stardust’. Il progetto è nato alla fine dell’ estate 2002 ed ha già ottenenuto enormi consensi sia dal pubblico accorso ai concerti, sia dai rappresentanti del fan club ufficiale italiano di Bowie (www.velvetgoldmine.it) che sono letteralmente impazziti per la nascita di questa band e che ogni volta accorrono da ogni parte d’Italia per vedere le loro esibizioni live. I musicisti sono tutti giovani ma con grande esperienza e tutti quanti calcano da anni le scene toscane e non solo (Valerio Sereni nei Divina, Mamo nei Gray ed H.A.R.E.M) il tastierista Gabriele Landucci ha partecipato alla produzione e rappresentazione del musical “Joseph e la tunica dei sogni in technicolor” della compagnia teatrale Rockopera. Dal 2006 Skip ha iniziato una collaborazione artistica con Andy dei Bluvertigo,da allora, sia Andy che Sergio Carnevale(batterista dei Bluvertigo) sono saliti sul palco con gli Zkippy. Gli spettacoli degli Zkippy sono live act molto potenti e molto ‘rock’ che riescono sempre a coinvolgere, emozionare e divertire tutti i presenti. Un repertorio,che abbraccia tutto il meglio di 30 anni di carriera del ‘Duca bianco’ con un attenzione particolare ai primi anni ’70, e look e muovenze prettamente glam fanno si che ogni loro esibizione diventi una vera e propria festa.

The best italian David Bowie tribute band! Skip Collins was born in England and spent many years living and working in London In the music business. He’s been in many bands of the 80’s like ‘Hohokam’ (as singer), ‘the last of the teenage idols’(as guitar player), having success with the release of some albums and the videoclip for the song ‘Point of view’ reaching in 1986 the highest positions of the charts. He worked with artists like Gary Numan,Andy Reilly,U.F.O.,Right said Fred,Siouxies and the Banshees and more. During these years he didn’t miss out on the opportunity to get a band together to celebrate his Idol: Mr.David Bowie! Since he moved to Italy,Skip found the right people to start a new tribute band “ZKIPPYSTARDUST”, playing with local musicians.After 4 years of touring Italy using different musicians,the band has now settled with the best !!! On guitar “MAMO”who has played with a number of top Italian bands,and in Skips mind is one of the best guitarist of modern times. On bass Valerio Sereni “the gigalo”who also plays bass with original band “Divina” On drums “Raffa” the animal ex drummer from the Muppets. On keyboards Stefano Nottolini and Gabriele Landucci the flying Dutchman. Since Christmas 2006 Skip has become very good friends with Andy from “BLUVERTIGO” and has been helping out on his new album.Andy and Sergio Carnevale the drummer from “BLUVERTIGO”since meeting Skip have also joined them on stage several times with Andy playing saxophone and joining in with the vocals,to a very rapturous applause.
