About Me

Dave Blaney drives the No. 22 Toyota for team owner Bill Davis, reuniting him with the man that put him on the Cup map.
Dave made his Cup debut in 1992 at Rockingham, but it wasn't until 1998 when he hooked up with Bill Davis did his career begin to show promise. He started 20 Busch races in '98, then made all but one start the following year.
In 1999 Dave recorded five top-fives and 12 top-10s to finish seventh in the standings. He also started five Cup races that year.
In 2000 Dave was in the Cup Series full time and in '01 recorded six top-10s, a career high. But he and Bill Davis parted ways after the season. After bouncing around, Dave raced for Richard Childress in '05 and reunited with Bill Davis for the '06 season.
Dave began racing in 1981 after graduating high school when his dad offered him the opportunity to drive a Sprint Car. In '82 Dave was named the All-Star Sprint Car Circuit of Champions rookie of the year.
In 1984 Dave became the youngest driver (20) and first rookie to win the championship in the USAC Coors Light Silver Bullet Series.
In 1985 Dave won his first World of Outlaws feature and from there went on to collect more than 180 Sprint-Car victories in earning the nickname the Buckeye Bullet. He finished second in the World of Outlaws championship standings in 1993 and '94, won the title in '95 on the way to being named the National Sprint Car Poll driver of the year, then finished second again in '96 and '97.
Other racing accomplishments include a Chili Bowl Midget Nationals championship in 1993 and his victory in the '97 Amoco Knoxville (Iowa) Nationals.
Dave also owns a World of Outlaws team for which his younger brother Dale drives.
