Reading, fashion, fashion magazines in all mutations, yoga, white teas, writing, and the daily upgrades my new apartment seems to require. I love my new seam ripper, politics, Rusans, Sushi Zen, meeting fun new people, cute boys, and pretty spring days. Sushi, Kate and/or Amber, and a good book make my day. I really like The Economist and any book Dr. Moran every recommended. I dislike willfull ignorance, apathy, heavy smokers, rudeness and people who can never seem to get to work on time-myself included.
I would like to meet: Old friends, Darby Conley, and that cute boy from Smallville. Those interested in fashion, politics, or some bizarre combination of the two. I would NOT like to meet: strange men who think we have something in common and live in the coastal area, or anywhere else. Anyone who has a poor grasp of the English language, uses any variation of the words hizzy, skizzy, fo sho', or any other ebonics. Anyone who has a profile picture of them topless-or bottomless, for that matter.
David Poe, Oasis, Blur, Aqualung, Snow Patrol, Bill Withers, The Dandy Warhols, Spoon, Keane-get the new album! REM, Jamie Cullum, Fiona Apple, Nelly Furtado-get the new album! Beck, John Mayer, Coldplay, Portishead, Seal, Lucinda Williams, Mindy Smith, Kathleen Edwards, Guster, Everything But the Girl, Franz Ferdinand, and assorted others. I'm always looking for new things.
The Devil Wears Prada-fabulous! Mr. Smith Goes to Washington-EVERYONE should see this movie. It makes me happy. Sneakers-way ahead of its time. Spider Man II. All the Harry Potter Movies...LOVE THAT KID! The Lemony Snicket movie...visually stunning. National Treasure. Breakfast at Tiffanys-I love the clothes and the soundtrack...Henry Mancini is the best. Ready to Wear. Center Stage. Intern. Singing in the Rain. 12 Angry Men. Wonder Boys.
The Situation with Tucker Carlson, easily one of the hottest men on cable TV and definatly the hottest Libertarian. Sports Night. The West Wing, mainly seasons 1 and 2-Aaron Sorkin is THE MAN. CSI Vegas and Miami, Law and Order SVU. And I miss World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. I feel like part of my childhood died with that man. Boston Legal-"Same time next season? God, I hope so." I am addicted to CNN. I also hate Fox News, and Bill O'Reily makes me nuts-not in a good way. May God curse all the boys I dated who loved him and forced me to watch. The really funny thing here is I list a bunch of shows and I don't have cable anymore. Look at my books section instead.
I love Thomas Friedman, David McCullough, and Samuel Huntington. PJ Wodehouse. Snobbery, by Joseph Epstein-and anything else he's written. Next up-A Nation Among Nations, and the re-reading of some law stuff which apparently didn't absorb the first time, as I've forgotten everything I used to know. I also consume about 15 fashion magazines a month and am continously working my way through a patternmaking book. And it isn't a book, but style.com has yummy pictures.
Anyone who overcomes hardships and seemingly insurmountable odds in the face of adversity with grace and class. I also admire my parents and my grandparents (both sets) for staying together in a country where it seems everyone is getting divorced.
