I'm useless without caffeine. I have an obsessive personality. I get addicted to things easily and become bored with them just as easily. My friends and family are the most important things to me. I can't go anywhere without my Bose QC3 headphones. I love Chicago and will probably live here forever. I am incredibly loyal. I will fight bitches you get in my way. I love the mountains. I bike a lot. I eat a lot. I drink a lot. I sit around a lot. I don't watch TV unless it's teaching me something or making me laugh. I am going to get my masters in economics and fix the music business. I want to own houses in several countries. I am obsessed with traveling and will always get bumped off the flight for the voucher. I want to collect art. I was a mermaid in a former life and need to swim regularly to survive. I like video games. My middle name is Joan, after my grandma. I like to sleep.

Music:

Lately I have been listening almost exclusively to Ween, Future Rock, Exit Clov, and Modest Mouse. Sirius Satellite radio Pure Jazz 72 is awesome, Phish is my favorite band - anything that includes Mike Gordon. Pink Floyd was my first favorite band back when I was a baby, Incubus is good, Modest Mouse's 'Good News..." is the album I have listened to the most (upwards of 500 times now). The Beatles can do no wrong, Yonder Mountain String Band is making me love bluegrass, Grateful Dead mellows me out, I've seen Umphrey's McGee the most (55 times now). Brothers Past is a new pleasure, but so far I'm incredibly impressed. The Motet satisfies by latin funk/salsa cravings, Henry Butler and Papa Mali give me love from New Orleans (my second home), I love the soulful black men - Karl Denson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Otis Redding, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, New Orleans Social Club.

Movies:

Walk the Line, Bittersweet Motel, Festival Express, the Monterey Pop Festival, the original Star Wars, The Neverending Story, Supertroopers, Zoolander, Almost Famous, I am Sam, Goodfellas, Walk the Line (worth mentioning twice), and of course, The Little Mermaid.
