.. I am a radio talk show host in Las Vegas Nevada, on Power 88. My website www.PatriciaCunningham.com is full of information about my professional career, my education, family etc. but, since I'm hoping this will be the start of a long friendship, there are a few things you should know about me. I am passionate, opinionated, blunt yet respectful, fair, objective and not afraid to tackle an issue. Any pre-conceived notions you may have about my stance on various topics should be tossed out. You might be surprised. I do tend to stand on my soap box from time to time, but I promise to try and save the rant for my blog. My discussions remain tasteful, even in adult content and I only ask that you do the same. I try not to be judgemental and am a no-nonsense person. Although I value your input, inappropriate, offensive, derogatory or profane comments will not be tolerated. My topics are political and social issues, as well as the week's top news stories. I am here to connect with individuals on a more personal level, than what usually occurs during a radio talkshow. People tend not to be as candid on air. I have always had a special connection with young people through out my counseling career and that has continued with my listening audience. Because I view everyone as a potential guest and every conversation a potential topic for my show, it occured to me that there are not a lot of "baby boomers" on MySpace and I hope to change that. I believe MySpace could be the key to bridging the generation gap in society. My generation has taken great pride in how we have changed this country and rightfully so. The civil rights movement, the anti-war protests, women's rights, gay rights, the war on poverty, have all raised the level of consciousness in America. So why is it, mature adults and young people have never been further apart. Why the disconnect? We have a lot to talk about and we will address these and other issues later in my blog, and who knows maybe on the show. Bottom line, yes I like hip hop, American Idol, Ipods, the internet and reality TV, but you and I both know, these things do not define a generation.....neither does an "AARP Card".........Let's talk.
