Heather Poliseno is a slam poet from the Twin Cities. She has been writing poetry since she learned how to write and has been involved in slam since 2003 when she helped start a slam organization at her college. She competed in the 2006 College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational on the University of St. Thomas slam team, and she co-coached the 2007 UST team that placed 8th at CUPSI. She has performed her poetry in Women Stand Up! a show featuring local funny women from all genres of performance, and has had her poetry published in several publications including Summit Avenue Review and the PSST chapbook. She recently competed in the first annual Women of the World Poetry Slam in Detroit Michigan. She is of course a regular at the St. Paul and Minneapolis slams if you would like to see her in action.
