Sleep Siren

About Me

------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------- Sleep Siren was constructed in 2007, by Jon Snead, as a solo project. Songs were written and composed at that time, but were never taken too seriously. Snead took a year long hiatus from writing to play in the bands "Hippie Grenade" and "Stereo Indifference" as the drummer. After the collapse of both bands in August 2008, Snead began composition for Sleep Siren again, and took a more serious focus. After writing the initial concepts for the songs you hear on "The Alice E.P.," Snead asked Jesse Frizzell, of the band "Awakend Rage," to step in as the drummer, and the two began recording "The Alice E.P." with the very talented sound engineer, Steven Gilliland, who also lent his talents as a lead/solo guitarist on several of the songs solo guitar work. Steven offered for himself and good friend Bryan Blackwater, to join the band as guitarists. Bryan Blackwater's extensive background in music made him a valuable asset to the band and a natural choice to carry the songs. Finally Mike Ullo, who had played with Snead in the band "Stereo Indifference" offered to play bass, and help lead Sleep Siren into a more technical electronics sound, which listeners will be able to enjoy in our next album, "A World in Coma." Sleep Siren's dynamic sound is comprised of simple, melodic trance, acoustic work, that can schizophrenically turn into a hard pulsing, technical, groove that implements catchy time signatures. A sound that is sure to stand out in today's quickly growing realm of progressive rock. We hope you enjoy what you hear and thanks for listening. ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------
