DJ SHANE/CHRIST LIVES

Toyan O’Brian Harris was born in Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica on September 18, 1985 the son of Elma Leslie. I was well know as “Ants Man” to the world when I was a secular DJ but now since I’m saved I am now known as DJ Shane the one who keeps the gospel loud and plain on the avenue and the lane.I grew up in a very strong musical environment, therefore, at an early age there I had a great likeness for music, I would spend many hours at my Uncles’ music shop among other musician, and I started playing a little sound in Hanover where I went to live. After I left Montego Bay in 1984, the guys that owned the sound system saw that I had a great love for music so they gave me the opportunity to take over fully. At that time I was the man that was at the microphone but at the same time I loved to mix songs on the turntables. Being a good DJ on a little sound really boosted my popularity my name started to reach all over the place. I met a guy who knows a lot of big DJs and big sound systems from Montego Bay he heard me play on the little system and said to me that he would like for me to play on is friend’s sound with over 48 speakers, this was in 2000. Soon after I went back to Montego Bay with my aunt and cousin then the guy for the sound contacted me and I started to play his sound, he liked the way I play so he took me to clash at clubs and on boat tours which really boosted my career. Even though I was doing all this I know that God was calling me, there were many signs but I didn’t take heed.In 2003 I decided to migrate to Canada and give my life to Jesus Christ. I got baptized then I got married and was blessed with a beautiful daughter. People started to encourage me to become a gospel DJ and not waste my talent. I didn’t even know that they had gospel DJs out there. But if god wanted me to do it he will allow it because I didn’t want to do it on my own and I didn’t have any money to buy equipment but after that the lord moved upon my heart and started to open doors. In 2006 I started to practice on my own at my home then after that I started to go out and play, because of the goodness of God I started to encounter with a lot of gospel artist and produces and truly it wasn’t this great when I was a secular DJ now I’m so happy that I’m on the right road doing the fathers will and its not just about music its about his kingdom to save and deliver souls from the enemy camp, from darkness into light, from Satan unto Jesus Christ and that should be the life of all Christians.
