About Me

Steve has been living and working as a professional trumpet player in the Central Florida area for 24 years. A native of Kentucky, he graduated from the University Of Kentucky, where he studied with Walt Blanton and Vinnie DiMartino. He later graduated with a Masters from the Eastman School Of Music, where he studied with Ray Wright, Manny Album, and Bill Dobbins. He is a familiar face in the trumpet sections of Buddy Morrow's Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Terry Myer's Big Band, and Don Scaletta's Jazz Project. Steve also spent many years working in bands on the riverboats out of New Orleans, and is well versed in traditional dixieland jazz. He has just released his first solo CD "Mahogany Hall Stomp". Steve can also be heard on various recordings from King Snake Records, Lane Thaw's "Tokyo Belle", Liberty Devito's "The Fun(k) Club", smooth jazz from Planet Nine, New Orleans music from"Tom Hook and the Swamp Dogs", Terry Myer's "A Tribute To Benny Goodman", Don Scaletta's Jazz Project, Ray Alexander's "Down To Earth", Captain Harry's "Waiting For The Sunset", Micky Finn's "Just Because" and many others.
