SHATTERED ALLIANCE
Before we tell you about ouselves, this is what Nerve Radio said about our gig at the Ship in Croydon in Jan 2009:
"Tight performance with steady rhythm and excellent timing signatures. Lead guitarist with style and passion using the full fret range and interacting on the floor away from the stage to rock the busy crowd at The Ship Croydon this night..The bassist was strong and knew how to work his crowd by continually throwing away gorgeous bass rifts as though they were free sweets..
The drummer used a full technical style that seemed effortless but all the same devastatingly time-perfect.. The lead vocals were delivered with pure passion and excellent delivery on tone definition and dictation sounding fantastic and powerful, intelligent lyrics with a plot to the songs' story.. Heavy powerful and totally enjoyable set that seemed to please the 100 strong crowd in the venue.. Not bad for a rainy Wednesday night..." John, The NerveCast Radio Show
This is what we say.....
Shattered Alliance are a British heavy metal band, drawn from Poland and good old London town where they were formed in January 2007 by guitarist Lee Warren, singer Rob du Preez, bassist Bika and drummer Mark Finigan. The band has since had just one major personnel change with Steve replacing Rob on vocals in April 2008.
Past, Present and The Future:
At the end of 2007 after 10 months being in the band, recording 2 demo cds (Revolution and AWOL) and playing more than 20 gigs together Rob and Mark decided, for personal reasons, to leave the band. It took 6 months for Lee and Bika to find the right person to replace Rob and new vocalist-Steve joined SA in April 08. His aggressive vocals helped to shape the sound of the band and in October 08 he re-recorded vocals to two songs: AWOL and One Life.It took about 8 months to find a replacement drummer who eventually played just two gigs with the band so it was great news for all concerned when, after a year of pursuing other interests, Mark returned on drums in October 08. The band played their first gig together with the new line-up on Halloween, without Mark ever having actually met Steve! That was at the Fiddlers Elbow in Kentish Town and it was the gig that gave them confidence to enter a local Battle of the Bands at the Ship in Croydon. They made it through to the semi's despite this being only their 2nd and 3rd gig together and caused something of a stir amongst audience and judges alike - who the hell were this band that blasted heavy riffs and roaring vocals straight in your face?!
Now well-established as a unit, between them Shattered Alliance members have a wealth of experience and ability. They have several recordings under their belt in previous projects and have travelled to Czech Republic for the 'Party in the Prague' festival where they joined a line-up of top UK underground metal and rock bands including Beyond the Grave, Imperial Vipers and Rue The Day to name just a few. Here in the UK they have played at venues such as the Ruskin Arms, the Astoria II, the Garage, the Hope & Anchor as well as the famous Phoenix pub in Dartford alongside bands such as Raging Speedhorn, Orange Goblin and The Inbreds.
The band influences are numerous and varied, from old school metal and rock to blues and even jazz, with songs featuring complex riffs, catchy hooks, and passionate, aggressive and sometimes melodic vocals. Lyrically, they write about what they care about and this intensity comes alive in their emotionally charged, energetic live performances complemented by their heavy, raw sound.
Currently the band is gigging constantly and writing a new material for the debut EP, to be released later on this year.
REVIEWS
One Louder Radio
".... they now give the impression that they are really creating music that they want to create as their sound is more confident and passionate than before. As ever, the guitar work is outstanding – old style solos rapidly making their way through an impossible amount of high-pitched notes per second and strong melodies which really enhance the band’s intended sound. This also includes some funky background noises and fast moving bass lines which make you want to dance as well as jump about like a nutter in a pit. Despite the traditional heavy metal sound, this is real ‘feel good’ music from a metalheads’ point of view. The vocalist has a hearty singing voice and puts it to good use voicing lyrics that are clearly thought about, as opposed to using words and syllables that conveniently fit in with the music......... this recording is enjoyable to listen to and hints at being very successful when played live."

".... a band that hark back to the days when heavy metal meant heavy metal.... there are some great riffs going on and the lead guitar often throws in underlying melodies as well as the complimentary solos. Signs are good - a great demo and a band that deserve to go places 8/10" real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools
