QUEST is a Norwegian band playing improvised electro-acoustic music. What you hear could be described as a Nordic soundscape, contrasting between large, airy spaces and intense, poetic miniatures, between heavy grooves and floating melodic lines with references to Norwegian folk music. The band`s music is characterized by it`s mixture of acoustic sounds and extensive use of electronic effects. Improvization being the heart of the music, the listener is invited to join in on a quest where anything may happen.The group`s members are Andreas Barth (drums, percussion) and Erik Fooladi (percussion, electronics), Geir Hjorthol (trumpet, electronics), Torleif Sagstad (guitar, electronics), and Merethe Vadstein Welle (vocals, electronics).Quest`s first record "Rom" (Room), was released in 2005, and received excellent reviews.
