About Me

Hello everybody,I am sorry about my absence for the last long while. I am currently in Calgary and working at my goal to be a filmmaker. I am going to be working at updating my profile and will be coming back with something to blow your minds.Stay tuned!Yours Ryan

My Interests

Filmmaking, music, writing, I like the outdoors, camping is sweet. I enjoy a good book but I mostly read non-fiction. I'm more of a cultural studies guy....There's more but I can't write them all, so yeah I'm not going too. Oh but I've also been getting into photography lately.

I'd like to meet:

Scarlett Johannson, oh and Tom Hanks and maybe your mom. (j/j about Tom Hanks)

Music:

I'm a big fan of the indie scene, bands like The Wassabi Collective, FOG, Boards of Canada, The Shins are sweet, anyway stuff like that. Some of my favorite bands are Incubus, Foo Fighters, Tenacious D, Queens of the Stone Age, Rage, Tragically Hip, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Sloan, ETC...ETC...ETC. If its got a good beat I'll listen. Bands to watch for: The Wassabi Collective, Obsidian Blossom and mottsbeats (aka. Andrew Mott)

Movies:

Now on this subject I could write a F'in novel, but I prefer to discuss film so I wont go on a rant here. I'll save it for conversation but I will label a few of my 'must see's': 1. Amelie 2. The Evil Dead series 3. Baraka 4. E.T. 5. Requiem For A Dream 6. 2001: A Space Oddessy 7. Solaris 8. Dazed and Confused 9. The Goonies and 10. Air Bud 2 (that bitch can play). Anyway being a film student you tend to be a little obsessive over movies.

Television:

I try to watch a little TV as possible but when I do watch I like The Daily Show, Family Guy, How It's Made, Mythbusters, Seinfeld, Conan O'Brian and accidently finding late night soft core porn. Other than that I find TV just desensifies you and I don't want none of that, it's hard enough with all the drugs I've done/do. Just kidding mom & dad (but not really).

Books:

I do try to read as often as possible but it's been awhile, school kinda gets in the way. Though I do have a few really good recommendations that you may like. First is Jon Stewart's 'Naked Pictures of Famous People', it's a collection of short stories and essays that Jon wrote, funny stuff. Next I'd have to say, for those interested in philosophy, 'Sophies World', I can't remember the authors name but it was ..1 on Norways bestseller list for like 3 yrs. Another good one is 'If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor', which is actor Bruce Campbell's autobiography. For those who know Bruce's work a must read.

Heroes:

My heroes vary in size and shape but to name a few I guess I would have to say first off Tom Hanks is the fuckin' man. If I could accomplish even a quarter of the things that man has done I would die a happy man...uhh also on the list is of coarse my Dad, the compassion and family values he has are unmatched. And I have to give a shout out to Bill Gates. The dude is the richest man IN THE WORLD, could you imagine the balls it would take to hold that title. I not a big fan of windows, I'm more a Mac man myself but Bill I tip my hat to you hombre.
