Family Volt is a merge between the two bands Pekka Volt and Stuk. Pekka Volt, famous for their great success with the song “Corky Went Overboard†from their debut EP, had a short and impetous success. Their first full length album “Whipped Cream and gasoline†from 2004 became the take off and landing for Pekka Volt as it was followed by great reviews and in the end; the dissolvement of the band. Tom Volt, songwriter and bassplayer, continued to create music in the aftermath of the breakup, becoming more productive and inspired then ever. It didn..t take long until drummer Andreas Stunes heard the material and suggested they..d give it another try. Bent Borgund played the guitar in Stuk when he heard the news and decided to haul Helge K into the new constellation. Helge took charge of the drums, whereas Andreas started flirting with the synth, something that became quite a lovestory really. And from that point, Family Volt arose, with happy familymembers, playing their significant neoschizofrenic hybrid of hardrock and synthpop.
