About Me

Hello, my name is Adela and I love making up songs on anything thats makes noise easily. If I wasn't doing this I would probably be very bored or pregnant. Given a choice in life, I think I would choose to be an otter living in Yellow Stone Park...they seem to have the most fun of all animals, or at least they do on TV. Anyway, the songs listed above are demo recordings. I'm currently recording the album which is going to be out and about this summer...in fact I'm just back from Omey Island where we laid the foundations...things are starting to happen people... ME IN THIRD PERSON:

Adela Meally hails from Cullahill, Co. Laois. A demo recorded in 2007 unexpectedly recieved considerable airplay, with John Creedon of RTE Radio 1 describing Party for Three as "Fantastic stuff ... hit written all over it" and Michelle Harding from RTE's Acoustic Highway also giving it a spin and highly recommending it...Ian Dempsey and Ray Darcy of Today fm also gave it the once over...(it was a good once over!) and it even managed to become the second most requested song on KCLR 96fm...not bad going for a days recording. With this already under her belt, Adela looks set to make a real splash with the release of her debut album this summer.

Most recently, Adela was nominated as Best Female at the Balcony TV Awards and also had the fantastic video you see opposite (party for three) directed by Ann Orrin from the New York Film University. She has also made an appearance on the SILE SHOW and the video Party for Three recieved a number of plays on THE LAST BROADCAST.

So far Adela has played support to John Spillane, Eleanor McEvoy, Liam O Maoinlai, Don Mescall, Gavin Glass, Juliet Turner Damien Dempsey and Arthur Ebeling.

Band Members: Well its hard to say at this point...the album is being produced by Madhu Kambamettu and mastered by thee John Astley...these are the men pretty much in charge of the overall sound at the moment. The single/triple A-side demo includes myself on guitars, Mandolin, Banjo, Accordion and Vocals, Dom on bass guitar, Telecaster guitar - Eamonn Dunne, Acoustic guitar - Brian O'Reilly and Ross O'Meara on Drums.Ross and Dom will also be appearing on the album. Many Thanks to Liam Condon for setting up the recording.
Influences: When I was growing up I listened to the likes of Paddy Reilly, Johnny McEvoy and Foster and Allen. I'm not sure how much of this rubbed off on me though I do play the accordion. Now my favourites include John Spillane, Dolly Parton, Amy Winehouse, Singin Bernie Walsh and Nellie McKay.
Sounds Like: A very happy person?

Check out the new video for Party for Three!
