Lobotomic express

International Lobotomic ExpressLobotomic Express began its journey in 1993 when I was just released from a mental clinic. At that time it was a trio (Shamray on bass & vocal, Parenchukki on drums and me on guitar and soprano). We were under big pressure from Grunge culture though we had reason to fit many keys into one song, make unexpected bridges and finish with long FZ style solos for example…Our main hit during that period, “I’d like to put it between your lips” our parents did not like. We stopped this project when Shamray suddenly became the leader of a guitar factory under his own name. Thereafter he sold his bass guitar.We revived Lobotomic with Parenchukki in 1999 for the annual Shamray Guitar Festival in Moscow, but now it had become a kind of Big Band with a few winds, backing vocals and of course, a nicely produced show with dramatic parts and balloons. We played our old stuff decorated by all these means as well as the New Clinical Song, that had come to us while rehearsing. After this I went to India for two years.In 2004-05 we made a new Lobotomic together with the Random Affairs project, led by Alexander Viazhsky who was also a producer with the O2 TV channel, Moscow. We changed the concept of the band, added a brand new electro sound and thoughtful lyrics such as “Yes will never no” or “We are not so complicated men to be perfect or unable, but we just hope that someone’s there, kind of master and flomaster”….Today, we are re-presenting Lobotomic Express from Moscow with international artistes—Capitan Dubrovshnev from Aral Sea, AudioPervert from Delhi, and Pulpo-Trance From Ibiza.Lobotomic express says, “ Again you are liquid”
