About Me

Film vultures still preside here! Screenwriters, actors, filmmakers, musicians and editors on ever corner ugh! And every kid with Final Cut is now a fucking awarding winning editor now, (yeah right) still laughing here!
Currently at my day job, I am editing a documentary, for the 40th anniversary of Woodstock coming up. It's a piece about Country Joe McDonald, called: "Gimme An F".
I am also currently, shooting the film "Forbidden Island" directed by Kristian Wralstad, shot in the bar with the same name in Alameda. It's sort of a Twilight Zone adaption. I am director of photography on this piece. All I can say as I watched our dailies with the director and we both thought they looked exceptionally great!
We finished up a low-budget, independent horror film which I was director and cinematographer on called "Last Breath". My film preference however, is psychological thrillers and the suspense/pursuit genre'.
I am a writing my own screenplay to shoot: "The Cost of Desire" it's about an tumultuous affair. This feature I plan to direct an, possibly do cinematography on as well. Oddly enough, I have just made a picture deal with Parlay Productions as far as getting the film produced, I am very excited!
I don't want to come off sounding egotistical but, its what I've done with my life on a creative level and I'm proud of it!
I am extremely passionate at what ever I do (heck I'm Italian!) and put every effort fourth to accomplish sometimes the impossible! It's all about improvising and thinking way outside the box creatively, to make a particular film, camera, lens or shot work, what ever the cost! (more on craft later!) I am just a creative, genuine, honest guy who's into: Filmmaking, Directing, Cinematography, Editing, Motion Graphics, Glamour/Fashion Photography, Art, Illustrating, Painting, Writing, Screenplays and Poetry.
I have made music videos, short films, commercials and have also shot my own film noir short film: "Out From The Shadows" winning two awards here and abroad, just finished my demo reel '07. Currently, had a piece of mine screened at the Mill Valley Film Festival at Throckmorton Theater '06 which, it got a four star rating! I am also a full time documentary film editor and have edited four feature length documentary films: "Behind The Bandbox" (The portrait of three street survivors), "The History Of The TeleTimes" (including: Underground cartoonist R. Crumb), "The California Chronicles Of Medical Marijuana" (which I did the editing and motion graphics on) This piece contains the last interview of Dr. Tod Mikuriya. 9/20/33-5/20/07. R.I.P.! Also, Ed Rosenthal former columnist of "High Times" magazine writing his "Ask Ed" column.
This piece also contains some of the big players in Prop. 215 movement. NORML being one. (me personally I don't smoke 420 but the subject is quite enlightening!), "The James Baldwin Anthology" (received top honors in the documentary film category, at The Berkeley Video and Film Festival. Current titles that I have mentioned are exclusively available through Regent Press and Art and Education Media Inc.
Being a filmmaker (such as myself) means that one must understand one's self and one's will and psyche. This dichotomy of world's consist of two people they are both soothsayers. On one side the healer and the other the warlock. The trick is to delicately walk between these two worlds on a tightrope and not to lean more to one side more than another. Being fused and meshed with both worlds is so important as a storyteller. Having a creative balance with grace and dignity also help this act. Light must have shadow, etc. Remember the number one rule for screenplay writing is "conflict" on every page. That's o.k. with me as long as it is not real-life conflict and it stays just fiction.
My own business www.hidefproductions.net in which I will shoot and edit high definition video content making HD look like 35mm stock with an Redrock M2 Micro 35 device, prime lenses and post production trickery. I will Provide low cost solutions for independent filmmakers in the San Francisco Bay Area, while making my own films, coming in on time and budget of course! I work with a wonderful group of creative collaborators who love their various crafts and the medium of film, it's all about team effort, harmony, togetherness and visceral communication.
Yeah, I am pirate of sorts, I see life as an adventure, people as the true treasures that we accumulate, experiences as the currency by which we can measure our worth! I sport the Spanish Conquistador goatee, wear a du-rag or bandanna with, the sunglasses as opposed to an eye patch and once in a while you'll find a flask of Captain Morgans Spiced Rum tucked in my boot! However, I don't pillage or rape ; ) MyGen Profile Generator
