Banquo Bangs is the rapper, and Bang Boy is the producer. Offerring the best of both worlds in Hip-Hop, Banquo composes and produces original beats and songs. Therefore, he posesses a rare talent that a few artist in the music industry can display.
In the third grade, Bang Boy took up the Guitar, with enthusiasm, and began his musical career. Progressing with the accoustic guitar, he composed original pieces at the early age of twelve. Shortly after, Bang Boy became interested in the piano and the drums his sophmore year in high school. He joined a group of friends who encouraged him to take his talents to a new level. He recorded and edited songs for the group thus making their beats on occasions. This friendship helped Bang Boy gain years of experience in producing and audio recording. Bang Boy's beats are versatile in genre ranging from: Hip-Hop, Jazz, R&B, Blues, Pop, Soul and Funk. Musical influences consist of: Dionne Warwick, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Billie Holiday, Linda Jones, Prince, Rick James, Lauryn Hill, and Erykah Badu, Pharrell, Madlib, Jay Dilla, and Dr. Dre.
Banquo, as a emcee, has always manipulated words to paint pictures. He began writing poetry his sophmore year of high school, with the assistance of his english teacher, and acceled creatively in writing songs. Writing poetry enhanced Banquo's skill as a rapper, giving him the ability to capture a feeling and transcribe into words. Since the age of 12, Banquo has been writing songs and perfecting his skill. He was fortunate enough to grow and learn from inspirational lyricis who have earned their title in the rap game. Banquo plays the middle ground when it comes to a image of the artist; not too flashy and cocky, but humble and hard. Banquo doesn't have a specific image he's trying to portray, he just enjoys making good music that the average person can relate to. A lot of Banquo's lyrical influences come from: Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Nas, KanYe West, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Beanie Sigel, and Ludacris.
A artist can advance in their craft by sincerely accepting critisism from their crowd. Banquo has always been open to opinions from his audience concerning his music. With a open mind and a open ear, Banquo loves collaborating with emcees or producers of the same calibur. Bang Boy strives for perfection and space is the limit for this Hip-Hop dynamo.
