currently, deciding whether or not to unpack boxes, deciding whether or not to buy furniture, trying to convince myself to eat out less and cook more, surviving GMA week.
the drunk people who party in my courtyard at 3am on a Sunday. so that i can punch them.
KEXP Radio
favorites: eternal sunshine, amelie, help!, good night and good luck, crash, garden state, the motorcycle diaries, anything with katherine hepburn, capote, and (this is) Spinal Tap. and i apparently have a subconscious affinity for both terminator movies.
i like shows with long drawn-out ethical debates and marine biology ..aries on PBS.
currently: all my books are in boxes.
Favorites of mine include: hemingway (his short stories are outstanding - i especially like "a clean well-lighted place" - and the novel "a farewell to arms" is one of the most beautiful books ever) and steinbeck (particularly "east of eden"). other literary gems in my past include: extremely loud and incredibly close, catcher in the rye, the perks of being a wallflower, the motorcycle diaries, the autobiography of malcom x, confederates in the attic, a people's history of the united states, to kill a mockingbird, the jungle, siddhartha, pride and prejudice, freakonomics, a million little pieces, fast food nation, a tree grows in brooklyn, a peoples history of the united states, high fidelity, on the road, the philosophy of andy warhol, lady sings the blues, les miserables, emma, the joy luck club, the devil in the white city, the five people you meet in heaven (not very accurate, but a nice parable) invisible monsters, midnight in the garden of good and evil, harry potter (i know, i know, but this is what happens when you hang out with middle school kids), the berlin stories, labyrinths, the known world (you need to read this!), catch 22, the chronicles of narnia, mere christianity, the screwtape letters, the weight of glory, the great divorce (so i'm a CS Lewis junkie...sue me), and not to be cliche at all, but the bible is quite something. truly remarkable. let's talk about it. you ought to give it a try.
