Dakota Clark, aka “Oven Rake,” plays electronic music through an old Nintendo Game Boy and a speaker attached to his coat at Bumbershoot on Monday, September 1, 2008. Clark, who is from Puyallup, said he bought a program from a Finnish website that turned his Game Boy into a techno-instrument.
Of all the acts I saw at this year’s Bumbershoot festival, this one was the weirdest (yes, weirder than Saul Williams and even Australia’s Strange Fruit). I’m not a big fan of techno music, and I’m even less of one today thanks to Oven Rake.
