TOY SURPRISE INSIDE!

Once upon a time there was a midwestern drummer. ME. But after a period of many years, I grew weary of JUST being a drummer. Supplying beats for many (Lifeforce, Standstill, Blind Date, The Rozen Bombs, Digpin) my contributions seemed to go un-noticed. After club stints from the midwest, to Florida, as well as east coast and even a brief west coast relocation, I put together an outfit with more diversity . So for the last 15 years, I fought to find and piece together a dying entity called Logic's End. Most of the time, it was just me, struggling to find other musicians, as versatile as myself. The years passed as guest musicians scurried through a revolving door, leaving pittances of inspired debris behind for me to mix, fix & finalize. The demand I put on myslf to keep this project alive was exhausting as I produced, arranged, filled in and recorded these collaborative creations. But an unfulfilled need to create moods, sounds and textures of my own, began manifesting itself in a new form.
So in 2007, I branched off and broadened MY OWN inspirations, combining the use of today's technology, with MY favorite genre's. The result has arrived as "Toy Surprise Inside!" Reverting back to the simple treasures of my childhood that brought me such joy. Cereal! Drawing! Toys! Cartoons! And Saturday Night "Creature Feature!" The result is a whirlwind of indefinable styles, steeped in glorious celebrations of mischievous youth. Bringing more sampling, electronic/ambient experimental creations to the table, as well as tribal and sonic percussive blasting. This is where I can really let loose as a drummer and yet showcase my abilities as a songwriter. An avant guardian of goodness!... A composer of combustion!... An arranger of the absurd!... A producer of the profound! Some may call it,"Prolific!" "Colossal!" Even, "Discombobulated!" But for those of us who refuse to grow up, we just call it, "Neato!"
