Derek’s secondhand musicality originates from a strong gospel background paired with a love of R&B. Growing up in Aliquippa PA, his selected instrument resulted from a fated mispronounciation xylophone. Derek, however, soon found a love of players such as Grover Washington, and Ronnie Laws and the rest, as they say, is history. He has performed with The Stellar-Monics, B Street Band, Abbs and Company, and has appeared at Dowe’s on Ninth located in Pittsburgh PA. He is also a full time member of the music ministry at Holy Spirit Fellowship Church Beaver falls, PA.
