Joseph Bozone was born on May 5, 1989 in Grenada, MS. Having always had an interest and love for music, Joseph began experimenting with several musical instruments at a young age. Joseph is primarily a guitar player now, but also plays several woodwind instruments. Currently, Joseph is a freshman at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS where he is studying music composition, performance, and production. Joseph has played in several jazz, rock, and religious bands in the states of Mississippi, Delaware, and Maryland. Joseph currently sings and plays guitar in the two ensembles, Ol’ Skool and Deltarox, offered through the DMI at DSU.
In 2004, Joseph took part in a guitar workshop at Berklee College of Music, where he studied music theory and performance. In the Kennedy Center theater competition in the fall of 2007, Joseph was the Music Director of the play Copenhagen where judges raved over the quality and musicality of his compositions that he used in scoring the play. Joseph has also composed music that was voted on by the faculty at DSU and won first and second place in the music competition for DSU’s podcasts. Joseph assisted Mark Snyder and Chad Washington with technical support in the 2007 Electroacoustic Juke Joint Festival. Joseph Bozone looks forward to pursuing a lifelong career in music.
