In the spring of 2007, a small group of dedicated students of Human Rights at the University of Connecticut organized an Awareness Week with hopes to bring the notion of universal human rights to every student on campus. The week included two speaker panels, a film series, a Fair Trade Coffee Night with live music, a No Sweat Fashion Show with sweatshop free clothing from several different manufacturers, and ended in an all-day HUMAN RIGHTS AWARENESS FESTIVAL with more than twenty local acts. The week was so successful that the organizers decided to bring all of these fun, exciting events to universities across the country, to raise awareness of basic rights, as well as provide oppportunities for activism on all levels. We are therefore pleased to announce the HUMAN RIGHTS AWARENESS TOUR, at universities across the country, in the Spring of 2008.
