I am what I am today because of what I believed about myself yesterday. And I will be tomorrow what

About Me

Where do I start. Well, I spent most of my childhood outside of the small town (pop 99 at that time) of Longville, MN. Turtle race capital of the world! My family lived on a lake, all my relatives lived on lakes, and all my friends lived on lakes. So I spent a lot of time camping, fishing, and playing outside. The country song "A Different World" pretty much covers it. I also spent a few months in Germany one summer. For my high school years, I lived outside of Cloquet, MN pop 11,000. Felt like a big city to me. Duluth was a metropolis! I enjoyed playing sports, spending time with friends, and owning lots of pets. After I graduated, I went to college at UW-Superior (4.5 years) with Biology / Environmental science degrees. I really enjoyed my undergraduate research on migratory and breeding waterfowl. After I graduated from there, I worked for the Grand Marais DNR for 6 months. I enjoyed working on the Superior Hiking Trail, wildland firefighting, and living right on the shore of Lake Superior. Then, I seriously thought about becoming an officer in the Air Force but decided to go back to school at Lake Superior College to get a degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician instead. After that graduation and a year of not finding a job, I decided to move to NC to work. I thought I would get away from the cold weather of MN and be somewhere new and exciting. Turns out I really missed MN and spending time with my family and friends, so I came back after 1 year. Oh and so you know, we do have a strong northern accent for the non-believer's out there. I was one of them. The day I got back to MN I was like "Holy crap, we do sound like the people in the movie Fargo." Everyone in the south thinks I sound like I'm from Canada. To get on with my life story, I was only back in MN for a few months before joining the weather flight in the Duluth Air National Guard. Go Guard! I shipped off for basic shortly after hurricane Katrina. I spent 7 weeks in San Antonio, TX before going to Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS where I spent 7.5 months learning about weather. More than I wanted to know. Not a whole lot to do there because of the hurricane damage. I did make some really good friends who made the time go by faster. Some drug me along to LA one weekend to go skydiving at 13,000 ft. Scary shit looking at the ground and jumping out of a small plane at that height!! But I am glad I had that experience. After MS, I headed straight to Starke, FL where I spent 4 months at Camp Blanding for the rest of my weather training. I got to drive HMMWV's, shoot M-16's, use NVG's, and ride in a KC-135 to watch F-15's get refueled over the ocean. I also enjoyed going to the beach in St. Augustine. I miss FL.Well after 13 months, I finally got back to MN. I spent a few months recovering from weather burnout and getting used to being a civilian again. At the end of March 2007, I moved to St. Cloud to attend SCSU in the fall. Can't seem to stay out of school. I love variety and doing different things which is why I have had 23 jobs in my life so far. You name it, I've done it. I have also owned a house since 2002 but don't live there. Currently I work as a lab tech in Little Falls but hope to find a job in St. Cloud before fall. I hope this place will be my final destination. I like it so far. I have a driving range and archery range close by (two of my most recent favorite pastimes). I also enjoy running, drawing, painting, and photography which are very relaxing and therapeutic for me and my crazy life.I would like to get married and have a family someday but can't seem to find the right guy. My cat Baxter is like the child I have never had but unfortunately he can't live with me right now because I am gone too much. I miss having him around.Well, I have had quite the journey trying to find myself and what makes me happy in my life so far. I don't regret anything I have done. I am looking forward to what the future holds.
