Dennis Carlson - composer/conductor for DRUM HEADS PERCUSSION ORCHESTRA.This group was a combination of faculty and students from Berklee College of Music from 1976-1977. I graduated from University of Northern Iowa renown for their fine jazz band and studied percussion there with Jim Coffin and Randy Hogancamp graduating with BA in music/percussion. I studied at Berklee College of Music with Gary Burton. I was on faculty of Berklee College of Music i(1973-1977) in percussion departments and taught all areas of percussion including percussion composition and jazz ensembles. My music has been performed by over 35 colleges around world and formed my own publishing company COSMOS PERCUSSION MUSIC for distribution of the music of this period. Gary Chaffee was tremendous influence in polyrhythmic concepts.One of original members of ICTUS fusion group in Boston area (1976-1978). Many local gigs in Boston area.Moved to New York City in 1978. In 1980 formed a smaller ensemble which included many Berklee alumni/friends including Bill Frisell and Kermit Driscoll. In 1984 moved to Los Angeles and did studio work for major tv shows and also wrote music for soap opera SANTA BARBARA. 1990 relocated back to NYC. .. ..
