About Me

I am 29, married, and have an adorable daughter. I teach English as a second language to high school students. Most of my students are from Mexico. I teach in English so that they learn English. I know some Spanish (thank you Sra. Waltz!) but I am not fluent. I am interested in multicultural literature and have been since undergrad (thank you Professor Embry!). I love my job. I am sarcastic and bitchy, but in a fun way (unless you're the one I'm being sarcastic and/or bitchy too and then it's not fun for you, just for me).

My Interests

I love reading good books...dancing...running...watching movies...chatting online. I scrapbook when I have time because I'm a mom and that's a total prerequisite to being a good mom. I spend too much time on the Internet, but I ike to keep up with my friends that way.

I'd like to meet:

Intelligent, funny people are always good. I'd love to connect with other ELL teachers so I can pick their brains. Celebrities are cool too:)

Music:

Rock, some hip-hop/rap, reggaeton. I like Black Eyed Peas, Tool, India.Arie, Eminem, Lincoln Park, Evanescence, just to name a few.

Movies:

comedies and romantic comedies, not juvenile comedy. I don't really have any favorites because I don't like to watch movies twice.

Television:

The Biggest Loser, Still Standing, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, Ugly Betty, Earl, Grey's Anatomy. I never get to watch these shows because I am too busy, but if I had time I would definitely watch them.

Books:

Mostly minority literature and lots of educational books.

Heroes:

The usual: Superman, WonderWoman, Batman, Spiderman...
