A few months ago, I was invited to perform @ the 2008 Southern Entertainment Awards aka the SEAs. Towards the end of my performance, I decided to test a new song out I had recently recorded called "Pour It On Da Modelz." As soon as the beat dropped the crowd went CRAZY!!! When i got home & reviewed the footage, I realized I potentially had a "hit" based on the crowd reaction so I decided to leak the record to a few of my closet DJs to test it in the clubs & on radio. The record immediately took off, especially in my hometown of Killeen, TX. One day, DJ Michael "5000" Watts (CEO of Swishahouse) happened to be in my city at one of the local clubs while the local radio & club DJ (DJ Gottem//B106.3) was spinnin the record. Mike Watts asked DJ Gottem who's song he was playin. Gottem said "Thats SparkDawg!" The very next day, Mike Watts hit me up & ask me to send him the clean & dirty version of the record so he can play it on the radio back in Houston. he also asked me to send him a version of the record with an open verse so his new artist Coota Bang could add a verse & make it an official "Swishahouse remix." About a week later, Watts sent me the record back with Coota Bang's verse & the rest is history ya dig? Yu can also find the Swishaouse remix of "Pour It On Da Modelz" on the newest Swishahouse cd called "Blow One 2k8!"HAVE YOU HAD ANY COLLABORATIONS WITH MAJOR ARTIST?
Hell yea! One of the 1st major artists I worked with was Lil Scrappy. A few years ago I moved to ATL. Me, Scrappy & Crime Mob use all share the same manager. I used to be a member of Lil Scrappy's "G's Up Click" before I moved back home to Texas. I even have a record I did with Diamond (formerlly of Crime Mob) called "Bout 2 Be Sum Conflict." I've pretty much worked with almost every major artist in Texas fasho. I have a record with Trae (Rap-A-Lot) called "Mouf Fulla Blang." The song was actually nominated for SONG OF THE @ The 2008 Southern Ent. Awards. One of the 1st records that actually started my mixtape buzz was a song I did called "I'm From Texas" feat. TumTum (Universal Records) & Magno (formerlly of Swishahouse). About a year ago I had a pretty hot record with Yung Redd from Swishahouse called "See My In Ya City." I did some music with Smitty aka Mr. "Diamonds On My Neck." I've even worked with major Westcoast artists like Mistah FAB (Atlantic Records). I'm EVERYWHERE!!! (& its just the beginning)WHAT ARTIST YOU THINK IS HOLDING IT DOWN IN THE GAME NOW?
I be so focused on ME & MY team that I hadly even pay attention to what other rappers are doing. Wayne's definetly doing his thang right now...he's probally the only artist in my lane right now thats even in my radar. I'm striving to be the BEST & I dont see too many new cats that are inspiring me at the moment.DO YOU THINK IT'S BETTER TO GO INDI THEN MAJOR?

The fact that a dont have a MAJOR deal & I still get more press & publicity that 90% of the rappers on the game. That means alot! I've been featured in THe SOURCE, XXL, Ozone, DOWN & countless other magazine. I've single handly (with the help of GOD ofcourse) climbed my way to the top of the Texas rap scene. It's actually a funny story. Aside from the fact that I'ma "solo artist," I also happen to be in rap group called "Greencity." About a year ago, Scarface signed my whole group to a 1 album "group deal." (The album is title "BRAND NEW MONEY" & should be droppin soon.) Anyway, one day we were all in the studio with "Uncle Face" & I was recordin a verse for a song called "I Gotta Shine." In my verse I spit "I'm SparkDawg the nigga that'll jab you in da parkin lot/I'm about to start my own record label & call it Spark-A-Lot..." As soon as I said that line, everybody in the studio just busted out laughin & sayin it was "catchy" so I decided to run with it...even though it started out as just a funny punch line in my flow.DO YOU HAVE ARTIST SIGNED UNDER YOUR LABEL?
Yea..right now, the 3 main artists I'm focusing on are Q.Beezy, Real Talk & Young Boro. I have a few other artist I'm working closely with like Lil Neechie (from Florida), Yound Day (from Austin, TX) & a few others...Q.Beezy & Real Talk are featured on "Pour It On Da Modelz." Lil Neechie is on the original version without Swishahouse. Young Boro is my "street dude." He's actually from my same hood, MARLBORO HEIGHTS aka MBH. You're gonna hear him on all the "hood songs" & street records." Thats his lane.WHERE IS SPARKDAWGS NEXT MOVE IN THE INDUSTRY?

I've been "self-managed" ever since i left ATL back in 2004. i've received various management offers from tons of potential managers. The latest one I got was from Soulja Boy's manager, "Miami Mike." So far, I'm about 99% sure I'm do it. Aside from that, I'm about to be on VH1 Save The Music. They're filming a a non-profit charity event in my city & asked me to be apart of it since me, Team Spark-A-Lot & Green city are pretty much the face the Killeen music scene. I'm a be speaking to the kids about the importance of MUSIC & EDUCATION. A lot of people think that all rappers are "dumb" or "ignorant."
