ack in the beginning of the 90's, I was playing drums alone in my room. I met a girl who knew a band in need of a drummer. The bassist of that band was Alex Sorel. I knew Alex because we lived in the same town and played hockey together at a younger age. I joined that band. We called ourselves Lowdown (for no particular reason - it just sounded good). We played cover songs of Metallica, Slayer and a couple of originals. We played mostly for friends with occasional shows around the Lasalle or Ville St-Pierre area. In may 1997, we played what would be our last show. It was in a church in Lachine with lots of people (and lots of beer!). Unfortunately, I sold my drums, Alex had a kid (Zak), Louis got into producing and Pat got into problems (won't give details). Fast forward to 2002, me and Alex got in touch and I bought 2 tickets for his birthday for the Down show at the spectrum (r.i.p.). We got very very drunk, he forgot to call his then girlfriend. The result : he got separated, met a girl that approved of him playing music again - he bought a bass and got ready to play again. In the mean time, I was playing in a band with my friend Eric Lafontaine, mostly for fun. Alex and I had a love for a band called Crowbar that inspired us, so we started writing songs with Eric that were slow and heavy. We were not happy as a trio (and not loud enough!). Alex knew a kid from work that played guitar (Francis Perron) and we decided to give him a shot. One week later, we knew that we needed this guy to play with us. We started to jam on songs and soon enough we had 10 great songs... but no signer and no jamming space either because we got kicked out for being too loud!! It's then that we moved to the famous B-414 in St-Henri. But now we had to find a singer and fast! Eric Baribeau is Alex's cousin and a fan of ours since the beginning. He lets us know that he wanted to try out for the spot and we agreed. It turned out to be a good decision, Eric is doing an amazing job. We are now ready for our 1st live show, Saturday the 24th of Nov 2007. The 1st but not the last. Prepare yourselves for a doom revolution.
