J Will born to the name of Junior Williams was established on the 31st of December 1987. He was born in London on New Years Eve. J Will however spent most of his child hood in America and Ghana. America allowed him to discover and develop his talent for music, dancing and basketball. The motherland Ghana gave him strengths in perseverance and his humble life style.
15 years old he is back in London and this where his journey for fame begins. J Will is a working soulful RnB singer/song writer who is determined to make a big change to the UK music industry. Even in these early stages of his career he has made a lot of promising strides to suggest that he will be very a successful artist. Just to name a few he has been compared to the likes of Ne-Yo, Usher and Lemar.
J Will’s mother who has always sung in the church choir encouraged him and aided him with that soulful gene. He then joined his mother in the choir at the age of nine. It was in church that he found his other musical interest such as playing the drums, the trumpet and the saxophone. It was the streets where he found his love for dancing and basketball. Even breaking his arm while perfecting his moves in street dance.
It is 2009 now and J Will is now 20 years of age. His debut single entitled ‘Déjà vu’ is the first of an array of songs that unwind the mind, motivate the soul and caters to the ladies. This harmonious production which was created with J Will’s writing skills and diverse vocals has become a hit with the UK DJ’s already. ‘Déjà vu’ had the likes of DJ Ras Kwame, who plays on Radio One and 1Xtra saying, ‘I don’t even like slow jams but I like this one, so you know it is a big tune’. J is definitely something special to the UK music industry. He has already worked with Grime rapper Wretch 32 on the Remix of ‘Déjà vu’ with a video to be released later this year.
J Will has given back to the UK music industry featuring with the likes of Deli Bricks. Which they look to release a single called ‘Dance’ which is looking to be a club banger of 2009. So far so good it has been mostly work and little play for J Will. Let’s just talk about how far he has come, from winning a talent contest at Newman College in 2005, featuring in music videos either singing or showing of his basketball skills from street ball on Channel AKA, on BBC Homegrown podcast and his skills in Basketball landed him a role in film called ‘Freestyle’ which is hopefully to be released sometime this year. He has recently worked with Gospel rapper Radiant trying to still have a close relationship with God.
J’s music career really took form when he met Benjamin Ajilore aka Benny B at a studio. With J Will’s distinctive vocal ability, he is a fast growing fresh UK talent; just remember this is just the beginning of something amazing so stay close and support a star in the making…
