Meet Our Suporting Bands
EMMA FORMAN
Emma Forman is a superb original talent, who has over the past few years as well as developing her own solo career, fronted several well known bands in the area of Glasgow.
During this time Emma has also shared the stage with Midge Ure and also Fish, who was of course the original Marillion Frontman.
She has recently appeared on national BBC Television on a show called 'Upstaged'' performing her own self penned songs.
Around 18 months ago Emma also released a CD of her original material entitled Chocolate And Red Wine at a very reasonable cost of just £5.00
SEARCHIN
A dedicated tribute to The Searchers, who have in recent years they have been making quite a name for themselves as a profesional tribute act.
These guys really are one not to miss and very recently they came face to face with The Searchers, ask them about it,they would be happy to tell all.
However there is much more to these guys than playing The Searchers as you can expect to hear many other Merseybeat anthems during there set including sounds of The Beatles,Swinging Blue Jeans and much more.
BOB GROCOTT
Liverpool is well known for been a mass breeding ground for great Beat Music.
But when it comes to producing great Rockers in the true sense of the word there has been very few, e.g Billy Fury,Rory Storm and Faron'Of Farons Flamingoes'.
I truly believe that Bob sits alongside these greats, he is an undiscovered Gem of Merseyside Rock'N'Roll.
Its been a pleasure to have had him on board with our fundraising activities over the last 4 years, both in his own right as a valued member of our regular house band, Bob is also an original member of the modern day Merseybeat band 'The Shakers'.
In 2007 Bob quite rightly won the title 'King Rocker' at our 'Mods 'V' Rockers' themed event we had that year.
With great Rockers like Bob Rock'N'Roll Merseybeat style will never die.
ED HARRIS
Ed is very much a Guitar/Vocal of the old school, as when in when it comes to recreating the exact sound he really puts his homework.
Ed formed his first band at school in the early 1970’s called ‘Aftermath’ named after the Rolling Stones album of the same name that was out around that time time.
‘Aftermath’ lasted a year or two and then from then onwards, Ed performed mainly as a solo act in pubs and clubs until the formation of The Media in the late 1990’s.
Nowdays Ed can be found
performing frequently at Liverpools Cavern Club.
If you ge talking to Ed he has an intresting story of how he once met Paul McCartney at a New Years Eve 1977 party
in the Penny Lane area of Liverpool.
THE HEYZE
The Heyze originally formed in Auchterarder, Perthshire, but are now Liverpool based.
They take their influence from the likes of All classic Merseybeat, Bob Dylan,The La's, Buddy Holly,Gene Vincent,The Beatles,Velvet Underground, White Stripes,Super Furry Animals.
It a real pleasure for the last 3 years to have had these guys involved in our Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support.
THE MEDIA
This band we have been very proud to have had on board with us since the start. They were indeed the first ever band to take to the stage of behalf of Rock4Mac.
The Media will take you on a journey through the the classic sounds of The Beatles,Rolling Stones, David Bowie and The Kinks.
TONY O'KEEFE
Tony is one of the finest drummers I have ever come across
on the Liverpool Merseybeat circuit.
He first came on board helping us out on our Fundraising Events by offering his musicianship services as a member of the modern
day Merseybeat band 'The Shakers. He was guest drummer with 60s/70s Band The Media at our first ever Rock4Mac.
GLOVE PUPPETS
Glove Puppets are a four-piece alternative/rock band who all hail from the Blackpool area.
Describing themselves as a quirky Rock band, they draw their main influences from the likes of The Smiths, The Libertines, Talking Heads and The Kinks.
THE KICKS
Now these guys can really rock and have great fun along the way while doing so in their banter with the audience.
They also posses a mighty powerhouse sound for a 3 piece band.
From this ultimate party Rock band expect to hear the best of the Rock classic sounds ranging from covers by Chuck Berry,Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who,Dave Clark Five, Sweet,T-Rex, Free, The Buzzcocks,The Clash,Queen,REM,Bon Jovi,U2,Travis,Oasis,Kaiser Chiefs,The Killers,Green Day and Franz Ferdinand.
The Glove Puppets have now been doing the local circuit for about 18 months now are currently working on the production of their first EP,which at the moment remains untitled.
However watch this space as we will provide full details on the page here once this is released.
Rock4Mac believe they are a band with great attitude and have the potential to build an even greater following over the coming months and years.
Rock4Mac - Suporting Venues
THE JACARANDA
SLATER STREET, LIVERPOOL.
The Jacaranda traditionaly has had a long asociation with our fundraising now for many years.
All of the management and staff have always made us more than welcome. A member of staff told me recently that they really enjoy working the bar on
these events, which as an organiser of previous fundraising event made me feel very proud that they were so behind the true spirit of the charity events.
Its with great pleasure this year that we will be hosting a fundraiser once again at The Jacaranda and this time under our revamped umbrella of
Rock4Mac which is a new chapter in this Annual tradtional fundraiser event at The Jacaranda.
A local guy by the name of Bernie who has been a Jacaranda regular since the late 50s early 60s and also a friend of John Lennon, has on numerous
ocasions described the atmosphere at our events as been about as close as you would get to how it used to be.
THE FAIRFIELD

The Fairfield Arms is a fine Pub/Resturant situated just off Junction 3, visible from the M55 round-about.
Since taking this venue over very shortly after its opening 14 years ago,Mike And Bev have run this thriving establishment.
We are very proud to be bringing our Rock4Mac brand to The Fairfeild Arms on Friday 26 September 2008.
THE LANE ENDS
WESHAM
Since taking over The Lane Ends, Wesham approximately 4 years ago, Chris And Kelly have built up a reputation that has put this venue firmly on the map of the local music scene.
Therefore this has now become one of the key places to be for bands and fans alike in the Blackpool Area.
It was with great pleasure and pride that we held our very first Rock4Mac here at The Lane Ends on Saturday 29 September 2007.
