Glad you stopped by and I hope you like the songs.
I have dreamed of writing all my life but didn't get serious about it until a few years ago. I was born and raised in northeast Alabama by parents whose roots were deeply embedded in the farmlands of the Appalachian Mountains. I have three sisters who over the years have been both "mom" and my best friend.....(and to this day still refer to me as the baby of the family). I believe strongly in the statement...."trust in God and He will take you places you have never dreamed of". I may never write a hit song or my name be known by anyone outside the circle of my friends and family...but everyday is an adventure and I am having a blast! Writing is my therapy and like I always say....when it comes to country music the "therapeutic well" is deep and wide! The song "Alabama Farm Boy" is very special to me and a true story. It was written in memory of my dad who fought in Japan during WWll. The version you will hear on the video below is a re-write of the same song with memories of the Vietnam War for Jesse and those of her generation whose fathers survived the battle but never forgot the horrors of the war. The dates and geography may change but the nightmares and suffering remain the same. The video below was made on June 22, 2007 at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama where Jesse was invited by Jim Parker to take the stage and do the opening performance for the Songwriter's Showcase. She is accompanied by the very talented Dave Sheppard on guitar.
I apologize for the shaky camera,.....lol. ( .....Jesse, you make me so proud!........)Love you all!!!Von Braun Center Huntsville, Alabama
